Full-contact scrimmages will be limited this spring because of injuries to the offensive line. I would imagine that would also include any type of live play. After suffering through consecutive years of devastating injuries to his stars in spring ball and fall camp, Coach Mendenhall is clearly hearkening to the axiom that less is more. Less full contact will give him more healthy players come September…

On Wednesday afternoon, a group of young men gathered at the indoor practice facility for the job interview of a lifetime: A chance to play in the NFL. They weren’t alone, as coaches and former teammates gathered to watch as these football stars, turned into track stars, weight lifters, and high jumpers went through a battery of drills to catch the eye of one of the 18 teams represented that day. Some of them had to know they would never get a shot at the pros, having spent their days at BYU buried in the depth chart. But they came anyways, a final shot at a childhood dream.
