Week 12 Pick ‘em: The Friggin’ Utes
OK, folks! This is the big one! Due to the degree of difficulty in picking an accurate score in the rivalry game, I’m going to make it interesting by awarding 5 extra points to this week’s winner. I’ve also decided to add the bowl game to the slate, so the field is still relatively wide open. Anyone could get hot and pull off the win!
BYU @ Utah
(BYU favored by 10.5)

OK everyone, I’m not afraid to go first. My score prediction is based on a dream I had 2 nights ago and is as much a hope and wish as an accurate prediction.
BYU 63 SNOT 0
Well, relatively wide open meaning if you aren’t such a terrible score picker like good ol’ last place Cap’n here, you still have a chance.
Cougars: 45, SNOTty, Friggin’ (with emphasis) Utes: 17
But since I’m probably still out of it, even if I have the score right on this week (and get the bonus points) and get the bowl game score absolutely right, I’d rather see bsum1’s pick come to pass (pun intended, of course)
BYU 42, School Up North 10
There’s a thought in my head that 38-17 would be a decent score to pick with the rivalry factor, but I have to believe that we have a better defence that performs at a higher level than AF (no pun intended, GP). I also heard today that weather shouldn’t be a factor.
My pick, with a brief analysis, if you’ll bear with me…
BYU: 45 UTAH: 6
I personally believe that this accurately reflects the score, and I’ll tell you why: Utah is putting a good face on things, but they’ve had a disappointment of a season so far. (BCS busters busted and all that). I don’t think any of them really expect to come out and win, the most they can do is make a game out of it. What’s going to happen is that BYU is going to effortlessly put them down 7-0 in the first 3 minutes and everyone is going to start thinking, “Maybe they really WERE right.” Then 8 minutes later when they’re down 14-0, they’ll start thinking “Well, this one’s gone. At least we qualified for a bowl game.” And one quarter into the game, this one will be mentally over.
I just hope all that demoralization doesn’t make me giddy.
Cougars: 45, DestitUTEs: 17
Nothing to say, really. I’m going to take the Cameron Jensen approach.
Well, my guess is way out there compared to the rest of your 40’s to a low number. Hopefully I am just kidding myself thinking that the Utes will get to them a little bit due to the past. Guess it doesn’t really matter since I just guess for the heck of it…
BYU 38 Utes 21
BYU 45, Utah 14
My score is pretty close to the Cap’n’s (and Hornplayer’s) score, but I prefer to think that he may have hit closer to the mark this week rather than me getting it wrong.
See y’all on the flip side!
